Portugal DVB nationwide monitoring solution – 4 years in production
Ubiwhere and Wavecom are the consortia behind Portugal’s DVB monitoring solution. The ecosystem of such a solution is formed by a grid of almost 400 field probes deployed across the national territory, an installer application agent to support on the installation/reconfiguration of field probes and a centralised system able to gather, persist, process and visualise the data collected from all the field probes.
The development of this solution was a success with currently 4 years in production without a single critical failure event. To celebrate this mark, Ubiwhere team decided to share with the community the experience lived during the last 4 years while upgrading, maintaining and monitoring the central server solution, explaining the problems experienced on dealing with a solution running 24/7 and collecting a considerable amount of data from 400 probes spread across Portugal.
