Helping people understand the impact of small sustainable gestures on their communities through technology
GoGreen aims to help people understand the impact of small sustainable gestures on their communities through technology. This technology will present its users with their registered green actions. It presents itself as a Blockchain-based rewarding system where each implementing body can define its modus operandi via robust Smart Contracts.
The end-users of this rewarding system will be the visitors and employees of points of interest in the Portland area (i.e. Central Eastside District, Oregon Museum of Science and Industry). Visitors can get to these points of interest by sustainable and non-sustainable means. However, it seems to be a challenge to have visitors opt for more sustainable means to travel due to a lack of awareness of the available modes and accessibility. With these rewarding mechanisms that take into account both the CO2 emissions and the user preferences, we aim to create sustainability awareness and encourage people to use the most sustainable means by validating their choices using the GoGreen app.
