World Sustainable Transport Day Conference 2024: Ubiwhere took part in the discussion on the safe use of Artificial Intelligence in mobility and transport

Ubiwhere

To highlight the World Sustainable Transport Day, the Mobility and Transport Authority (AMT) organised the World Sustainable Transport Day Conference at the Lisbon Cruise Terminal on the 26th of November. Ubiwhere was one of the technology organisations invited to participate in this initiative, where it took part in the discussion on the use of Artificial Intelligence in mobility and presented the Route 25 project.

The AMT’s mission is to regulate and oversee the mobility and transport sector. With this aim, it organised this event to promote mobility solutions that minimise environmental impacts, focusing on providing current and future generations with safe, accessible, efficient, and resilient means of transport. This conference featured the participation of business and governmental entities in various panels dedicated to topics such as sustainable mobility, the application of artificial intelligence in transport, and the planning and implementation of public policies for infrastructure and transport management. Ubiwhere was one of the entities present at the event, represented by Sandra Barnabé, Innovation Manager, in the Round Table “The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Mobility, Transport, and Transport Management Platforms.” During the discussion, she shared Ubiwhere’s vision on this topic, thus contributing to the dissemination of the Route 25 project.

According to the study "Guidelines for Artificial Intelligence" presented yesterday by the AMT during the conference, it was highlighted that "AI can be used to predict demand and adjust service availability, ensuring that even the most isolated communities have access to quality mobility."

The event also included the presentation of a study developed by the AMT on decarbonisation and energy transition in ports and maritime transport, as well as the pilot project for integrated mobility in Beira Interior.

Celebrated on the 26th of November, the World Sustainable Transport Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of strengthening the intermodal connectivity of transport, promoting greener means of transportation, and developing socially inclusive infrastructure.
