Ubiwhere kicks off a new project with Forestis - Associação Florestal de Portugal: get to know SGIF, an Integrated Forest Management System
Ubiwhere will develop this project in collaboration with Forestis - Associação Florestal de Portugal (Portugal's Forestry Association) to create an Integrated Forest Management System (SGIF) designed to support forestry producers, forestry entrepreneurs and forestry producer organisations in their strategic and operational planning and decision-making.
The main goal of the Integrated Forest Management System is to update and replace the existing Forest Management Support System, known as ForgestWeb, which currently has several limitations and constraints. The new SGIF platform to be produced by Ubiwhere aims to overcome these shortcomings and fulfil the current needs of forestry organisations, especially the Forest Producer Organisations (FPOs) associated with Forestis - Associação Florestal de Portugal.
The SGIF platform will offer support for forest management and the integration of data from various sources, including systems from the Directorate-General for Territory, allowing for more efficient and automated management. This product will also contribute to reducing the need for physical travel, facilitating interaction between companies, managers and forestry producers.
When it comes to the benefits of this product, implementing the Integrated Forest Management System, which will be designed by Ubiwhere, will bring economic benefits to those involved by optimising processes, reducing costs and improving the scale of forestry operations.
