Ubiwhere is the partner company for the University of Aveiro’s Master’s in Communication and Web Technologies

Ubiwhere

Ubiwhere is the partner company for the University of Aveiro’s Master’s in Communication and Web Technologies for the 2026/2027 academic year, as part of the course’s Challenge-Based Learning approach. Throughout the year, students will work on a real-world challenge proposed by the company, exploring new perspectives on urban services for citizens and municipalities.

The Master’s in Communication and Web Technologies, from the University of Aveiro and linked to the Department of Communication and Art (DeCA), follows a Challenge-Based Learning approach that brings students closer to concrete challenges presented by partner organisations.

As part of this collaboration, Ubiwhere invited the students to explore new approaches to urban services that respond to the needs of citizens and municipalities.

The topic connects with Ubiwhere’s experience in developing digital platforms and solutions and with its specialisation in Smart Cities & Territories, placing students in a context closely linked to real-world challenges associated with the digital transformation of territories.

As a starting point for this work, the students visited Ubiwhere’s offices for an initial introduction to the company and to the context in which they will be working. The visit also served as the kick-off for the challenge, providing an opportunity to clarify questions and prepare the work that the different groups will develop over the coming months.

This partnership strengthens the connection between Ubiwhere and academia, creating space to bring learning closer to real-world challenges and introduce new perspectives on topics at the intersection of technology, digital services and territories.

Throughout the academic year, Ubiwhere will continue to follow the development of the work through to the presentation of the students’ final proposals.
