Ubiwhere hosts an international consortium in the area of mental health and well-being

Ubiwhere

Between the 24th and 26th of May, Ubiwhere will organise a General Assembly and Technical Meeting of the TeNDER project at its headquarters in Aveiro. In this event, this project’s leaders and consortium members will present the results, experiences of the advantages that TeNDER provides, and case studies developed so far.

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that more than 10 million people live with dementia in Europe and that by 2030 these numbers will likely double. According to the European Brain Council, the prevalence of Parkinson’s disease is also expected to increase with more than 1.2 million European patients. The WHO also reports that cardiovascular disease is considered the leading cause of premature death and disability in Europe and worldwide.

TeNDER - affecTive basEd iNtegrateD carE for betteR Quality of Life - is a multi-sectoral project funded by the European Union programme, Horizon 2020, which focuses on Research and Innovation. The TeNDER project’s mission is to develop an integrated care model to manage multi-morbidity in patients with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, Parkinson’s disease and cardiovascular diseases.

The consortium of this innovative project is composed of several international entities: Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Gruppo Maggioli, Datawizard, Elgoline, Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), Vrije Universiteit Brussel, HOPE, Salud Madrid, Schön Klinik, Università di Roma Tor Vergata, Spomincica Alzheimer Slovenija, Asociación Parkinson Madrid and Ubiwhere.

This General Assembly will allow the consortium partners to meet face-to-face, strengthening their relationships and possible future synergies.

The TeNDER project aims to help improve patients’ quality of life and those around them. In addition, the project is dedicated to testing ways to facilitate communication between different healthcare providers and carers treating patients with these types of pathologies. For Ubiwhere, it will be an honour to host this event because this is a project that combines user-friendly technologies and substantial research experience.
