The best of digital innovation on display: Ubiwhere demonstrated the results of the Imagine-B5G, DNS Testbed, Route 25 and MLSysOps projects at Aveiro Tech Week 2025
Ubiwhere was represented at the most significant technology event in the city of Aveiro - Aveiro Tech Week - on the 7th of October, presenting the results of the Imagine-B5G, MLSysOps, DNS Testbed and Route 25 projects. Organised by Aveiro City Council, Aveiro Tech Week celebrates technology and culture in a week that aims to reinforce the city's position as the epicentre of the technological route and as a hub of attraction for technological and creative industries.
For the consecutive year, and as a leading technology entity in the region, Ubiwhere participated in Aveiro Tech Week 2025, showcasing the results of its research and development projects at various locations throughout the city. At Praça da República, Ubiwhere was responsible for demonstrations of three of its projects:
- ‘MLSysOps in action: Safer and more connected smart cities’, an interactive session where visitors had the opportunity to explore urban data in real time, observe how AI models are trained and validated, view urban environment metrics in real time, and understand the role of technologies such as the cloud-edge continuum in creating scalable and efficient solutions. MLSysOps is a Research and Development project that aims to design, implement, and evaluate a complete framework for autonomous management of end-to-end systems across the entire cloud-edge continuum. Ubiwhere is one of the members of this project’s consortium and is the entity responsible for the use case applied to Smart Cities, which aims to make streets and pavements safer for pedestrians by analysing changes in demand patterns, identifying emergencies, responding more quickly and producing complex analyses;
- ‘N-TourXP-5G: Immersive Tourist Experiences with 5G’ as part of the Imagine-B5G project, where it was possible to demonstrate the potential of 5G to transform the experience of visitors to European destinations;
- ‘Digital Nervous System Testbed - From vision to reality’, with the presentation of success stories of Ubiwhere’s digital solution.
Ubiwhere, as a partner in the Route 25 project, participated in the workshop ‘The evolution of Autonomous Mobility in Portugal: results of the Route 25 Agenda’, which took place at Aveiro Tech City HUB - Atlas Aveiro Building. This participation involved demonstrating essential solutions for the future of mobility, including the CCAM Operations Centre, the Multimodal Data-Aware Sensing Platform, the Smart Parking Solution, and Edge Offloading. These technological solutions reflect Ubiwhere’s active role in the Route 25 project, an Agenda for Autonomous, Intelligent, Interoperable and Inclusive Mobility, a pioneering initiative, funded by the PRR, which is revolutionising mobility in Portugal.
Through its commitment to innovation and technological development in strategic areas such as 5G, intelligent mobility, urban data management and artificial intelligence, Ubiwhere’s participation in Aveiro Tech Week 2025 was not only a demonstration of results, but an affirmation of its role in building a more connected, intelligent and inclusive future, where technology is the engine of sustainable progress.
