The III International Conference on Public Policy and Data Science is an initiative of the International Network on Public Policy and Data Science (RP3CD), which will take place at the University of Aveiro between the 19th and 21st of May. The central theme of this event is ‘Smart Territories’: a topic that seeks to explore how data science can contribute to the design, implementation and evaluation of public policies that can make territories more efficient and connected. Ubiwhere will be attending this initiative with the participation of co-CEO Nuno Ribeiro in the Round Table: ‘From Strategy to Implementation: Perspectives and Practices on the Ground’.
The III International Conference on Public Policy and Data Science with a focus on Smart Territories has the main objectives of stimulating debate on the social, economic, environmental and territorial dimensions that challenge local and global contexts, fostering the exchange of experiences between different disciplinary areas, with a focus on the use of data and technology to support technically informed, participatory, transparent and consequential decision-making processes.
This initiative will feature nationally and internationally renowned experts who will discuss concrete experiences of implementing smart solutions in smart territories and integrating technological innovation, data and multi-sector collaboration in building more resilient, cohesive and people-centred communities. Nuno Ribeiro, co-CEO of Ubiwhere, is one of the confirmed speakers at the III International Conference on Public Policy and Data Science, where he will take part in the Round Table: ‘From Strategy to Implementation: Perspectives and Practices on the Ground’ on the 20th of May, from 4.30 pm to 6 pm, at the University of Aveiro. This Round Table will bring together professionals and local stakeholders to talk about concrete experiences of implementing smart solutions and will focus on demonstrating real cases, strategies adopted and lessons learnt from practice, highlighting the operational challenges faced on the ground, the skills required to overcome them and the role of local and technological partnerships in strengthening the capacity for political action. Nuno Ribeiro, co-CEO of Ubiwhere, will unveil the Urban Management Platform, a digital solution that complies with the reference architecture of the National Strategy for Smart Territories (ENTI), to support decision-making and facilitate communication with citizens.
