Rui A. Costa, Ubiwhere’s Co-CEO, elected for FIWARE’s Board of Directors 2022

The FIWARE Foundation is an international association that sets software development standards, promoting the harmonisation of Smart Cities solutions worldwide. Ubiwhere has been a Gold Member of the FIWARE Foundation since it was founded. Rui A. Costa, as the Co-CEO of a 15 years old digital company focused on the research and development of solutions for Smart Cities, recognises the importance that open source software can have in the provision of Smart environments and knows the powerful impact the FIWARE Foundation has in ensuring the highest and most rigorous standards of open source software, while also being central in the mobilisation of its rich and SMART Ecosystem.

Rui A. Costa is quite proud to be one of the eight elected people to represent more than 80 FIWARE members and ensures that he will consolidate the good name and reputation enjoyed by the FIWARE Foundation as well as the spirit of collaboration and open participation to find answers and solutions for the challenges of the present and the future.

As the only Portuguese member of the Board of Directors, Rui aims to contribute not only with Ubiwhere’s expertise but also with the Portuguese experience and knowledge gained through the evolution of the Portuguese technological ecosystem of which Ubiwhere is proudly part of and that has recently been growing strongly and steadily.
