Portugal Smart Cities Summit 2025: Ubiwhere exhibited the best of technological innovation for smart cities and territories in Lisbon

Ubiwhere

From the 3rd to the 5th of June, FIL in Lisbon was the stage for technological and digital innovation for smart, sustainable and connected cities. With the motto “Building Our Future Together”, this annual event brought together companies, public administration, local authorities, universities, research centres and experts to exchange experiences, best practices and disseminate solutions for urban and territorial systems: Ubiwhere, for another consecutive year, was at the Portugal Smart Cities Summit where it presented the Urban Management Platform, technological solutions for efficient urban management and disseminated research projects such as Route 25.

The Portugal Smart Cities Summit is the premier event in Portugal dedicated to transforming cities and territories. This year’s edition introduced a more functional organisation of the exhibition space and greater interaction between companies, academia and decision-makers, with conferences and debates showcasing innovative solutions and practical cases of digital transition in cities and territories. During the three-day event, Ubiwhere interacted with policymakers and partners who are building the smart cities of tomorrow today, and welcomed many visitors looking to learn more about the digital transition and how to make their cities more sustainable.

Ubiwhere demonstrated how innovation can improve the quality of life and support smarter decisions based on data. We presented our Urban Management Platform, a digital and integrated solution for efficient land management, aligned with international best practices and standards. We also disseminated the Route 25 project and showcased one of our recent products, Digital Business Neighbourhoods. Our mission was clear: to present solutions and products that can enhance urban management and improve the quality of life in cities and for their citizens.

At this year’s Portugal Smart Cities Summit 2025, Ubiwhere played a leading role: on the first day of the event, Ubiwhere hosted and organised the session ‘Urban Management Platforms - Technology at the service of citizens’ in the Central Auditorium. This session consisted of two parts: the panel ‘Good Practices in the Management of Smart Territories’ moderated by Margarida Campolargo of OASC and with the participation of Luís Lopes, Councillor of the Municipality of Leiria, Nuno Pimenta, Head of Division CIGMA - Integrated Centre for Autonomous Municipal Management of the Municipality of Funchal and the Round Table with the theme ‘Urban Platform - An Integrated Solution for Urban Management’ moderated by Diogo Correia, Researcher at the Smart City Observatory for Planning and Engagement and Professor at the University of Aveiro and with the intervention of Nuno Ribeiro, co-CEO of Ubiwhere, Diogo Henriques, Associate Partner at Deloitte, Rodrigo Espírito Santo, ICT & Smart Cities Specialist at Vodafone and Luís Jordão, Head of Public Sector and Healthcare at Google Cloud. This session provided an excellent opportunity to connect with experts and decision-makers who are shaping the future of smart cities, where it was also possible to discuss how digital platforms are transforming the way we manage and live in our cities.

One of the highlights of our participation was the dissemination of Route 25, a project that is emerging as a pioneering initiative that aims to revolutionise mobility in Portugal, driving innovation and sustainability in the sector. Route 25 aims to elevate the Portuguese automotive industry to the top of the mobility value chain. Its focus is on safe autonomous driving and the development of sustainable transportation technologies, in line with the European CCAM (Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility) Strategy. Route 25 is a project led by Capgemini in partnership with Ubiwhere, focusing on a vision for a more efficient, safer, and greener future.

As part of this project, Ubiwhere’s Urban Management Platform deserved all the attention of those who visited our stand. An integrated technological solution that supports municipalities and government bodies in the monitoring, operation and intelligent planning of the urban space and a platform aligned with best practices and international standards that complies with the reference architecture of the National Smart Territories Strategy (ENTI), to support decision-making and facilitate communication with the citizen and offering strategic and personalised solutions for urban management, adapting to the specific needs of each territory.

As well as exhibiting our projects and solutions, Ubiwhere organised two thematic cafés during the event: one on the theme of "Route to the Future of Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility", focusing on the Route 25 project, and the other on the theme of "Tourism 5.0 with the ATT Agenda". The aim of these sessions, led by Sandra Barnabé, Innovation Manager at Ubiwhere, was to disseminate research and development projects that aim to revolutionise the future of city and territorial management.

This event also provided us with moments of achievement. After being honoured by DECO as a ‘Consumer Friendly Municipality’ in March this year, the Municipality of Leiria received the national mobility award at the Portugal Smart Cities António Almeida Henriques Awards. Ubiwhere is proud to be working with the Municipality of Leiria to implement the ‘Leiria Smart City’ project, which is centred on an Urban Management Platform that brings together a range of information on mobility. This recognition at the country’s largest smart cities event is the result of a shared vision among Ubiwhere, Digiwest, and the Municipality of Leiria, centred on technology and data serving people, sustainability, and the quality of urban life.

During the Portugal Smart Cities Summit 2025, Ubiwhere reaffirmed its role as a leading company in smart cities and telecommunications. There were three days of exhibitions, business opportunities, presentations, seminars, and networking, during which it was possible to meet the great leaders in Smart Cities solutions in Portugal and around the world. Our team would like to thank everyone who visited us and expressed interest in learning more about our digital solutions and our company. Let’s continue to build smart cities together. See you next year!
