Live Better in Smart Cities: Ubiwhere’s participation in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2024
From the 5th to the 7th of November, the Smart City Expo World Congress 2024 in Barcelona brought together technology companies, political and government entities, researchers and urban technology enthusiasts. With the theme ‘Live Better’, this event emphasised the importance of using technological solutions to promote quality of life and sustainability in cities. Ubiwhere, a Portuguese company specialising in technology for smart cities, attended the event, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and presenting its solutions aimed at transforming life in cities, such as its Urban Management Platform.
Our team presented our leading solutions for three days, such as the Urban Platform, the Digital Nervous System Testbed and Smart PAYT. These technological products were created to transform how cities work and offer essential services to their citizens. The main highlight of our solutions demonstration was the Urban Platform, the flagship Smart Cities product developed by Ubiwhere that attracted the curiosity of thousands of visitors:
- Ubiwhere’s Urban Management Platform is a digital solution that presents a unified city vision by integrating data from different domains and interoperating information systems. It is a privileged decision-support tool for municipal technicians and decision-makers, adapting to the reality of each city and with the potential to evolve. It is the centrepiece for creating a Data Centre that encompasses all the realities of the territory. Due to the functionalities described and its compliance with international standards for developing software for Smart Cities, Ubiwhere’s Urban Management Platform makes a decisive contribution to Territorial Intelligence and the materialisation of a digital transition policy as a development driver.
Our participation was also enriched by the intervention of two members of our team in two high-impact sessions at the event:
- ‘Embracing Digital Innovation For Smart City Living’, with the participation of Sandra Barnabé, Innovation Manager, where she presented the Digital Nervous System Testbed;
- ‘From Idea to Product: Cities’ Digital Twins Empowered by R&I’ with Ana Pereira, Head of R&I, who explained how innovation and technology can improve people’s lives.
In addition to disseminating our solutions and products, Ubiwhere had the privilege of welcoming government and political organisations that joined us to discuss solutions that will transform the cities of the future, including visits from Ana Coelho, Portuguese Consul in Barcelona, Alberto Rodrigues da Silva, Secretary of State for Modernisation and Digitalisation, João Mira Gomes, Portuguese Ambassador in Madrid, and Vasco Amaral, Advisor to the Secretary of State for Modernisation and Digitalisation.
The Ubiwhere team ended this adventure even more motivated and with the certainty that we are on the right path to creating smart cities and territories. The Smart City Expo World Congress 2024 was an incredible event, allowing us to welcome many visitors to our stand and have inspiring conversations with visionaries and world leaders. Ubiwhere’s participation in Smart City Expo World Congress 2024 reinforced its role as a protagonist in global urban transformation. In line with the theme ‘Live Better’, Ubiwhere reaffirmed its commitment to innovation, connectivity and sustainability to shape the future where cities can truly be geared towards their citizens’ well-being and quality of life.
