Ubiwhere

On the 27th of November, the municipality of Leiria held a public session at the Teatro Miguel Franco to present and launch the ‘Leiria Smart City’ project. This project aims to improve access to mobility in the district of Leiria and reduce the environmental impact of road traffic. Ubiwhere was at the launch event and is one of the entities supporting and developing solutions for this project.

The Municipality of Leiria presented “Leiria Smart City”, a project which, using digital and technological tools, brings together a range of information to support decision-making in mobility and sustainability and seeks to facilitate movement in the city.

According to the Municipality of Leiria, “‘Leiria Smart City’ focuses on an integrated data management platform that brings together a range of information, namely on urban public and collective passenger transport (Mobilis), the city’s car parks and the availability of spaces, bicycles and electric vehicle charging, materialising in interactive digital tools available to citizens.’ All this information is just a click away via a web portal and an app called ‘mobis.leiria’, which were created and developed by Ubiwhere and Digiwest.

Paulo Duarte, Project Manager at Ubiwhere, was one of the speakers at the session that showcased the “Leiria Smart City” project and discussed the features of this project and the solutions created to make Leiria a benchmark city in the panorama of smart cities in Portugal and around the world.

Ubiwhere is dedicated to creating solutions to make cities and territories smarter through innovative technology. With our contribution, Leiria is concentrating on facilitating access to public transport, providing real-time information and guaranteeing city sustainability.
