Connected Intelligence and the Cloud Continuum: Ubiwhere at one6G Summit 2026
Ubiwhere was present at the one6G Summit 2026 in London in the context of the 6G-Cloud project. Under the theme “Connected Intelligence for 6G”, this year’s Summit focused on the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in future communication networks, a topic closely connected to 6G-Cloud’s work on an AI-native and cloud-friendly 6G architecture.
Held on 10 and 11 September at King’s College London as part of London 6G Week, the one6G Summit brought together international researchers, industry leaders and technical experts to discuss the technologies and architectures expected to shape the next generation of connectivity. The 2026 edition placed particular emphasis on 6G-native AI and the role of intelligence within future mobile communication systems.
This evolution towards more intelligent and distributed networks is closely related to the research being carried out within 6G-Cloud, a project in which Ubiwhere is a consortium partner. The project is researching, developing and validating technologies for an AI-native and cloud-friendly 6G system architecture across the cloud continuum.
Rather than treating network and cloud infrastructures as separate environments, 6G-Cloud explores how resources from multiple stakeholders can be integrated and how network functions across different 6G segments can be dynamically composed according to service requirements. This includes research in areas such as orchestration, distributed network management, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Network Digital Twins.
Against this background, the one6G Summit provided a relevant opportunity to follow the wider evolution of 6G research and exchange knowledge with the international community working on future communication systems. Discussions around connected intelligence and AI-native networks directly intersect with several of the technological challenges being explored within 6G-Cloud.
