Blue Connectivity: Ubiwhere event to discuss the technological potential of the Blue Economy
The event ’’Blue Connectivity - Foster Digital Technologies for the Blue Economy’’ will take place at Ubiwhere’s headquarters in Aveiro on April 4th. This initiative will promote disseminating research and technology projects within the Blue Economy and a comprehensive discussion on the potential for technological innovation and collaboration in this sector.
The Blue Connectivity programme includes interventions from the Secretary of State for Maritime Affairs, José Maria Costa, and the Norwegian Ambassador in Portugal, Tove Bruvik Westberg. These interventions are part of the Blue Growth Programme of the EEA Grants Portugal, financial support mechanism for innovative projects in the Blue Economy supported by funds from Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
One of the featured projects is the WOSUP project. WOSUP is a Ubiwhere project based on removing plastic and its derivatives in the oceans through the location and size of waste accumulations based on software.

Costa, co-CEO of Ubiwhere, "this event reveals how technological development is an indispensable part in the promotion of competitiveness and sustainability of the maritime sector, considering the distinct potential that Portugal benefits from for the creation of value in the area of the blue economy."
