European Project approved for Ubiwhere - FLEXMETER

Ubiwhere

We are thrill to announce the approval of another European project under the FIRE - Future Internet Research and Experimentation initiative

Our commitment and hard work led us to accomplish this European Project on middle of March, 2015, perfectly suited to the 1st FLEX Open Call and under the name FLEXMETER - FIRE LTE testbeds for open experimentation.

The project:

The FLEXMETER open call experiment will deploy the application uMeter, a Quality-of-Service (QoS) Internet access software, on the LTE platforms offered by the FLEX project.

The two project partners are the Université Pierre and Marie Curie (UPMC) from Paris with the group responsible for the OneLab Project, and Ubiwhere, and both have a common goal: to develop uMeter’s capabilities so as to ultimately allow its services to be commercially deployed for use in 4G, and eventually 5G, environments

The LTE testbeds enable us to alter the characteristics of the wireless environment so that we can remotely test our product in different 4G environments. Through examination of the experiment results and the monitoring of its deployment on the testbeds, we will be able to analyse areas in which testbed SFA and OMF control systems can be improved.

The goal of FLEXMETER experiment is to provide feedback regarding the current uMeter infrastructure while simultaneously improving the commercial uMeter solution. Our intention is to collect more specific, repeatable and reliable measurements, targeted at mobile communications and LTE in particular.

Our partner ÅRØ Consulting helped us submitting the proposal. Both entities have worked together for the accomplishment of the project and the result proved to be extremely positive.
