A robust digital solution for clinical studies management

Ubiwhere developed a project to modernise the STUDIES.CORC.PT platform, an essential tool for managing clinical studies at CORC, a unit of AIBILI, and for data exchange with participating clinical centres.

Originally built on technology that has since become obsolete, the platform required a comprehensive overhaul to ensure scalability and compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), without compromising operational continuity.

 

The project was carried out in well-defined phases, starting with requirements gathering and planning, followed by the redevelopment of the application using modern, secure technologies, supported by a new architecture built on robust frameworks. Among the operational improvements, particular emphasis is placed on updating the certification module to enable greater traceability of technicians and equipment, and on introducing new states and more detailed functionality.

 

Advanced features were also implemented, including a file-renaming tool with full traceability, a long-term storage module for complete archiving of studies, with export to formats such as Excel and XML, and the integration of quick maintenance messages and notifications for scheduled downtime. To ensure regulatory compliance, a comprehensive auditing system was implemented to record all database changes.

 

By combining up-to-date technology, security, regulatory compliance and a strong user focus, Ubiwhere’s modernisation of the STUDIES.CORC.PT platform represents a decisive step in the digital evolution of clinical studies management at CORC.
