Poupa Energia Portal: a digital platform for more informed energy decisions

The Poupa Energia Portal is a public platform designed to help consumers choose electricity and gas suppliers in the liberalised market.

In this ADENE project, Ubiwhere played a central role, leading the development of the web portal and making a decisive contribution to its technological and functional evolution.

The portal provides a practical, intuitive simulator that lets users compare energy tariffs, helping consumers identify the options best suited to their needs. To improve accessibility and the overall user experience, a mobile application compatible with Android and iOS was also developed. This application was built using React Native, ensuring a single codebase and a native user experience, with integration into the existing REST API and specific features such as additional authentication methods, push notifications and standard simulations.

Ubiwhere was responsible for the overall implementation of the platform, as well as for its corrective, preventive and evolutionary maintenance. Among the improvements delivered are the inclusion of information on electric mobility, the continuous updating of the simulator to align with the tariff models of the Energy Services Regulatory Authority, and the display of the most affordable tariffs directly on the homepage, which increases the conversion rate. The project relied on a robust technological ecosystem, including React, WordPress, Python, Django, Redis, Docker and GitLab CI/CD, as well as integrations with services such as Autenticação.Gov and the Tax Authority for user authentication.

Ubiwhere’s contribution, through the development of the web portal and mobile application and the ongoing maintenance of the platform, was key to ensuring an efficient, accessible user experience aligned with best-in-class technology practices.
